The Clinton Lady Maroons seemingly had everything thrown at them Tuesday afternoon but the kitchen sink and in a high school softball game heard on WHOW, outlasted Sullivan 5-3 in walkoff fashion from Clinton High School.

Avery Smith doubled home two runs to give the Lady Maroons the win Tuesday in a game originally scheduled against Hart-Em and then before action could get underway, a weather delay paused the game that was moved up to 4 pm for Hart-Em then 4:15 when Sullivan was added to the schedule.

Smith finished 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs. Heidi Humble drove in the other Clinton run. 

Aliviyah Haynes got the start in circle for Clinton and completed all nine innings. She struck out nine, walked two, and permitted five hits.

With the win, Clinton moves to 8-9 overall. They travel to Shelbyville on Friday.
