Department of Natural Resources officials and the DeWitt County Coroner’s office are investigating an accident that happened Saturday afternoon at Clinton Lake.
Details of the accident haven't been released, however, the accident claimed the life of 26-year-old Kurt J. Larson of East Debuque. Larson was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:10 pm.

Mabel H. Marten, 95, of Lincoln, formerly of Emden, died at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday (July 22, 2014) at Lincoln Christian Village.
Mabel was born Feb. 16, 1919, in Emden, the daughter of Folkert and Ella Alberts Eeten. She married Harold H. Marten on Nov. 29, 1941, in Emden. He preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1984.
