Sixty-one LaSalle County Nursing Home residents are back home safely, after being evacuated for six days because of the flood. Administrator Chris Csernus [[ SUR-nus ]] says most went to other area nursing homes and caregivers went with them.
At its highest, Illinois River flood water surrounded the county nursing home but didn’t get in the building. Staff couldn’t have parked their cars safely and ambulance crews would've had a hard time getting anyone out for a ride to the hospital. The nursing home was good to go after crews worked to remove debris from the parking lot. Residents moved back in yesterday.
